Stanton Walter Kendall Stanton (29 September 1891, Dauntsey, Wiltshire – 30 June 1978, Sedgehill, Shaftesbury, Dorset) was an important English organist and composer of sacred music. At Salisbury Cathedral he was a chorister. Subsequently he was educated at Lancing College and then Merton College, Oxford, where he served as organ scholar (1909 to 1913). He served various schools as Director of Music: St Edward's School, Oxford (1915–1924); Wellington College (1924–1937); Reading University (1927–1937); the Midland Region of the BBC (1937–1945); and Professor of Music at Bristol University (1947–1958).
